Montana Management (Dundee) Ltd was set up by Richard Burnett – a Chartered Surveyor, with over 40 years’ experience. He is available to provide specific Property advice to clients, perhaps looking for larger premises, or looking to downsize – residential, commercial, or retail units. Richard is an expert in resolving property disputes, swiftly and amicably.
Since graduating from the University of Aberdeen in the early 80′, Richard Burnett has worked with a variety of Property based Companies and Practices, honing the skills of negotiating amicable and suitable solutions to all manner of Property based issue. For the last 20 years he has worked at Partner or Director level, addressing complex issues, and creating workable solutions for a diverse range of clients.
In 2020, just as the pandemic struck, Richard decided to trade independently, enabling his personal expertise to be focussed on specific projects. Where property issues or concerns are taking up your time and focus, he can take control of these and focus on the best solution for you.
His personal approach and easy-going manner enable him to often find a solution, by harmonious negotiation. His enviable work ethic ensures that matters are dealt with swiftly, never hurried but always only taking the time that is necessary.

Richard has a raft of professional accolades behind him. He has chaired the Property Managers Association Scotland Ltd, then chaired the UK qualification body – The Institute of Residential Property Managers (now The Property Institute) and chaired its College of Fellows. Latterly, Richard chaired the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors Scotland Board for two years, through the pandemic. His continuing involvement with these bodies keeps his knowledge of current trends and issues to the fore.
Non-executive appointments include siting on the Governing Body and the Operations Sub-Committee of Hilcrest Housing Association and being a Trustee of the Safe Deposits Scotland Charitable Trust.
Montana has evolved over the years, having started with a focus on Landlord – Tenant matters and Property Factoring issues. While we continue to address these issues, we have expanded to becoming involved in risk assessment for insurance companies – assessing the compliance with the policy requirements of a diverse range of property assets and trading businesses. Concise reports issued promptly are appreciated by Risk Management Clients, insurers and Underwriters.
